The Beauty of this Peco Celebration of 200 years of Railway is you can do what you like.
While I did contemplate doing the "Joining 00 Gauge" display, mainly should a very small section of the First Passenger Train, Locomotion Number 1, I just felt there wasn't enough space to really get that vision and feeling I was hoping for.
There are also very limited places and images around of any kind for items from that time. Although I was able to find out some information about the first station used, today, it's very run down and not used for anything now sadly. However there are some that are trying to get help and support to restore it to somewhat similar to the original as much as possible. There is a fare amount changed today, and sadly boarded up a fair amount.
I felt I just couldn't do it all justice. Therefore, I went to the plan of getting set up and parts in place for things I have seen, areas and architecture I have seen in person.
This took me to the TT120 Scale, with already having my mind set to make a nice size TT120 layout, with my daughter, I thought why not have some fun, and do a working diorama in TT, that I can have sitting to show some things off and test some locos, but also the ability to add to this in the future to really have a working display.
This is where I am now, working on this Diorama along side of making the Heritage station area near a more used country "main line" while there are also allowing trains from the Heritage Railway using some of the Main Line to join up to other Towns.
This of course is all set around a fictional location, but keeping in mind real places I have had the pleasure of visiting and seeing with many hours of research.
